Seeley Family Photo Session / Malibu Family Beach Photographer

Back in December of 2017, I had the honor of documenting the Seeley family’s trip to the beach. They needed family photos for their annual Christmas card, but we got much more than that!

It was a little chilly that day, but still warm enough to put on long sleeves and enjoy one of the cooler benefits to living in Los Angeles – the Pacific Ocean.

I started off the session by guiding the family towards the rocks. The light was beautiful – the sun was shining on them from behind, casting a perfect glow! But after a few minutes, as per typical family photo session, we had to keep moving and make sure everyone was happy & entertained. We set up a blanket on the sand and I snapped a few photos. Hazel, the 4 year old, loves the beach! She can occupy herself and have a blast playing in the sand. Very soon though, the little one, Jette, was not having it, “what happened to Charlie the toy monkey,” “more tic tacs please,” insert other distractions here. So we had to improvise and let the session flow at its own pace and its own direction. The girls headed for the water – Jette’s eyes were overjoyed and in awe, and pretty soon everyone had their feet in. They just enjoyed being together. After a little while, the sun started going down. We took a few more fun / connected / authentic poses and then we were done, The result? See the photos!

And it’s a wrap! A successful Malibu Beach family photo session with the Seeleys. Thankful for days like these! And thankful for my clients who welcome me into their lives, and allow me to document these precious, everchanging moments. The family loved their photos – and picked out a favorite for me to print. It’s a large canvas, and it’s hanging up in their dining room. They see it every day, and it reminds them of the time, the beach, and the love they will always have for each other.
