Back in November, I teamed up with my favorite LA luggage designer, Holly Seeley (the master behind The Dance Angel – The Patented Rolling Dance Bag With Pop-Up Costume Rack), and The Dance Angel’s new Brand Ambassador, Jenna Petty, for a Santa Monica Beach Dance Photo Session.
We first met Jenna at the 2017 Dancerpalooza convention, during our mini photo shoot with Collette Miller’s “Global Angel Wings Project” art piece. If you’ve seen angel wings all around the streets of LA and worldwide, or posed next to them, then you know what I’m talking about!
Here’s Holly (The hip Dance Angel inventor/designer) posing with the angel wings at the convention:
Jenna was one of the girls that blew our minds with her dance skills! And here she is, before she knew she would become the Brand Ambassador:
…We started off our photo session on November 30, early in the morning, at sunrise. We posed the beautiful collection of Dance Angels out on the Santa Monica boardwalk and started snapping photos. A few minutes later, Jenna arrived with her dad, we chatted for a bit, she changed into her first leotard, from Dancer’s Barre, (our favorite specialty destination boutique for fine dance wear in Studio City, Los Angeles), and we started shooting.
We photographed a mixture of The Dance Angels alone, and with Jenna. If you haven’t heard of The Dance Angel, and you’re a dancer, get ready for a treat! The Dance Angel is the best mobile luggage closet out there! It has a pop up rack that extends directly from the suitcase, so you can hang all of your favorite dance costumes during your traveling, without needing a separate closet.
After our first shoot was wrapped up with The Dance Angels, I took Jenna closer to the water, where she had her Dance Photo Shoot. We started off with a few simple poses, and then I just told her to dance!! The sun was coming out pretty bright, so I had to catch the best light and the best angles. Finding cool angles for Jenna wasn’t that hard, as her dancing was incredible, in all angles. Her passion and ease for dancing was what I wanted to capture, and I think I got it!
May you always follow your dreams Jenna!
